What they need

About Us

Join the team at Rock Steady Security, a leading provider of premium security and stewarding personnel across Scotland. We are proud to partner with some of the country’s most iconic and vibrant sports and entertainment venues, including the Barrowland Ballroom, Rangers FC, Usher Hall, Queen's Hall, Pavilion Theatre, Alhambra Theatre and more.

The Role

We are seeking robust, experienced, and highly communicative Event Security Supervisors to lead our on-the-ground teams. In this dynamic role, you will be the linchpin between venue management, event organisers, and our stewarding staff. You will take ownership of specific zones within a venue, ensuring that all security protocols are strictly adhered to while maintaining exceptional customer service for event attendees.

Please note: The live events sector is highly variable. Depending on the scale and specific requirements of an event, there will be shifts where you are deployed as a Licensed Steward rather than in a supervisory capacity. Flexibility is a cornerstone of this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Deliver comprehensive pre-event briefings, deploy staff to their designated positions, and provide ongoing support and direction throughout the shift.
  • Crowd Dynamics: Monitor crowd behaviour, identify potential pinch points or safety risks, and proactively manage queueing systems and crowd density.
  • Incident Management: Act as the first point of escalation for stewards. Confidently de-escalate conflicts, manage challenging behaviour, and coordinate emergency responses if required.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Work closely with venue managers, promoters, medical teams, and emergency services to ensure a cohesive approach to event safety.
  • Compliance & Reporting: Ensure all staff adhere to licensing laws, venue policies, and health and safety regulations. Complete accurate, detailed incident logs and post-event reports.
  • Customer Experience: Champion a welcoming atmosphere, assisting the public with enquiries and ensuring vulnerable individuals are safeguarded.

Essential Requirements

  • Licensing: A valid, in-date SIA Level 2 Door Supervisor Licence is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of 12 months of proven experience in a supervisory role, ideally within the events, festivals, or night-time economy sectors.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to relay instructions clearly in noisy, fast-paced environments.
  • Demeanour: A calm, authoritative, yet approachable presence, capable of making sound decisions under pressure.
  • Adaptability: A flexible approach to working hours (including evenings, weekends, and public holidays) and a willingness to step into standard stewarding duties as required.

Desirable Skills & Qualifications

  • A full UK Driving Licence and access to a reliable vehicle (highly preferred due to the varying locations of our venues across Scotland).
  • NVQ/SVQ Level 3 in Spectator Safety.

What We Offer

  • Competitive Pay: Hourly rates ranging from £14.50 to £16.00 (dependent on role deployment and provided you hold a valid SIA licence).
  • Unrivalled Venues: The chance to work behind the scenes at sold-out gigs, major football fixtures, and high-profile theatre productions.
  • Flexibility: Choose shifts that fit around your lifestyle or other commitments.
  • Career Development: Opportunities for further training and progression within a rapidly growing company.

How to Apply

If you have the experience to lead from the front and the flexibility to adapt to the ever-changing events landscape, we want to hear from you. Please submit your CV to [email protected]
