NightWood – General Event information

NightWood is a light and sound experience that will transform The Mount’s property into a fantastical winter landscape. Inspired by the natural beauty and architecture of The Mount, NightWood will immerse visitors in a series of vignettes designed to evoke elements of fantasy, tradition, and whimsy.

Overview:

The NightWood tour experience is held entirely outdoors. Event Staff will work three-to four-hour shifts under the instruction of an Event Manager assisting in providing a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees. The event staff will rotate through different event stations including parking, greeting, and wayfinding. Outdoor heating stations will be available, and breaks will be given to warm up inside when necessary.

Responsibilities:

• Warmly greet attendees
• Learn the interpretive artistic material and share with visitors to enhance their experience
• Adhere to, and as needed remind attendees of, event and safety procedures
• Assist attendees with wayfinding and identify any visitor-related issues throughout the tour
• Manage bottlenecks and flow of foot traffic
• Assist with parking
• Notify Event Manager of any safety concerns or technical issues in assigned area
• Performs other duties as assigned

Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

· Positive attitude and enjoy working in a team environment

· Must possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to express oneself in a professional, clear, and concise fashion

· Ability to multi-task in a highly demanding and sometimes stressful environment

· Able to receive constructive feedback in any given situation

Education:

High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)

Requirements:

· Must be available to work Wednesday – Sunday from 4:30pm – 9:00 pm

·Must be at least 18 years of age

· Warm dress and proper footwear required. Hand and foot warmers will be provided.

· Regular and timely attendance

· Sufficient physical stamina to be on your feet for entire shift outdoors

Physical Demands:The employee is regularly required to sit and stand; push and pull with force. The employee is occasionally required to climb and stoop; reach with hands and arms; use hand to finger objects and controls. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and peripheral vision; reading of written, or printed data.
