Event Steward – Winter Light Experience at The Belfry Hotel and Resort

Job Type: Zero Hours Contract | 27th November 2026 – 2nd January 2027 (excluding Christmas Day)

Hours: Typically 4:00pm – 10:00pm | Times may vary | Evening & Weekend work | Minimum of 3 shifts per week

Pay: £12.71 - £14.21

Location: The Belfry Hotel and Resort, Lichfield Road, Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, B76 9PR

Work Pattern: Available and willing to work a minimum of 3 shifts per week, with the opportunity to pick up additional shifts throughout the event period.

Parallux is a new events company specialising in the creation of immersive seasonal experiences. Our flagship project is the launch of a brand-new Winter Light Trail at The Belfry Hotel & Resort.

We are looking for friendly, reliable and customer-focused people to join our event team and help deliver an enjoyable experience for every visitor.

As an Event Steward, you will be one of the main points of contact for guests throughout their visit. You will help manage the flow of visitors, monitor event areas, answer questions and identify any issues that could affect the safety or enjoyment of guests.

The Role

• Welcoming visitors and helping create a friendly environment.
• Answering customer questions and providing directions and information.
• Helping manage queues and the flow of visitors around the event.
• Monitoring restricted areas and preventing unauthorised access.
• Supporting with the car park and helping maintain flow of traffic.
• Directing vehicles to allocated parking areas where required.
• Keeping visitor areas clean.
• Reporting any safety concerns.
• Assisting guests who require additional help or guidance.
• Supporting the wider event team with general event duties where required.

About You

• Friendly and confident speaking to the public.
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
• Calm and professional in busy situations.
• Proactive and able to identify potential problems.
• Comfortable working outdoors in winter conditions.
• Able to follow instructions and safety procedures.
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
• Physically comfortable standing and walking for extended periods.
• Willing to undertake a range of tasks across the event site.
• Available to work evenings and weekends throughout the event period.

Skills & Experience

Previous experience in event stewarding, customer service, hospitality, security, retail, visitor attractions or a similar public-facing role would be beneficial but is not essential.
