What they need

Event Supervisor

About In Residence Dining

In Residence Dining brings fine dining to venues across London and Greater London. Each evening, guests enjoy a fixed six-course tasting menu built around our chefs and the stories behind their food.

We have no restaurant of our own. Our team works from our office and prep kitchen, then sets up, serves and packs down in a different venue each shift. We are guests in other people's spaces, so we leave every venue spotless and exactly as we found it.

Event Supervisor

  • Location: Events across London and Greater London, plus some time at our Bethnal Green base
  • Hours: Part-time, Friday and Saturday evenings from 4:00pm to midnight, with more shifts available from 2027
  • Start date: 6 November 2026
  • Reports to: Head Office
  • Pay: Around £18.50 an hour, made up of a base wage plus your share of the service charge

We're looking for an experienced Supervisor to lead our front of house team at each event. This is more than a restaurant supervisor role. You'll run the event from setup to pack-down, and you'll be the host who welcomes every guest.

What you'll do

Before service

  • Help prepare and load kit at our office base when needed.
  • Travel to the venue ahead of the front of house team, sometimes in the kit van with the Kitchen Porter / Driver, and help unload the van on arrival.
  • Greet the venue owner or manager and confirm any outstanding logistical details for setup and reset.
  • Liaise with the chefs before service to clarify guest details, such as numbers, dietary requirements, allergies and any special occasions.
  • Direct the waiters/bartenders during setup and brief the team on the menu, the guests, dietary requirements and the plan for the evening.

During service

  • Greet and seat guests as host for the evening.
  • Record dietary requirements and allergies, and make sure the chef and waiters/bartenders know them.
  • Lead and support the waiters/bartenders, setting the pace across all six courses.
  • Liaise with the chef to keep the kitchen and floor in step.
  • Resolve issues and guest requests calmly as they come up.
  • Ensure every guest has an outstanding and seamless experience.

After service

  • Lead the clean-down and make sure the venue is reset exactly as agreed with the owner.
  • Pack the van at the end of the night, with the help of waiters/bartenders.
  • Liaise with the venue owner or manager at the end of the night to confirm the reset meets their expectations and to handle the handover.

What we're looking for

  • Supervisory experience in restaurants or event delivery.
  • A full UK driving licence and confidence driving a van, as supervisors may drive to and from events. Preferably aged 25 or over and to have held a licence for at least 2 years.
  • Strong organisational skills and an eye for detail.
  • Warm and confident hosting skills with excellent communication.
  • Calm problem-solving under pressure.
  • Knowledge of allergen and food safety procedures.
  • The physical fitness to load, unload and pack a van.
  • Willingness to travel across London and Greater London.
  • Availability for Friday and Saturday evening shifts, 4pm to midnight.

Travel

Travel is a big part of this role. We work at a different venue each shift, across London and Greater London. The length of your journey will depend on where you live and will vary from shift to shift.

Uniform and training

  • Uniform: white shirt, black trousers and black smart shoes. Aprons are provided.
  • Training: we train all employees on allergens, health and safety, and more.

Why join us

  • Real ownership of each event, from the first box off the van to the last box back on.
  • Work in a different London venue each week, alongside talented chefs.
  • Be part of a growing fine dining business with room to develop.

Pay: From £18.50 per hour

Expected hours: 16.0 – 18.0 per week

Work Location: In person
