What they need
Events Assistant | Liverpool | Full-time | 37.5 hours per week
You are the person who naturally stays active, observant, and dependable when a room gets busy. While others might wait to be told what to do, you instinctively notice when a guest needs directions, when a information desk needs restocking, or when an entry point requires an extra pair of hands to keep people moving smoothly.
If you are looking for a practical, entry-level role in live event support, visitor coordination, and floor logistics across Merseyside, this full-time position is an ideal fit. We are expanding our regional event delivery team and need a hands-on Events Assistant to support our day-to-day venue operations, guest check-ins, and event setups across Liverpool.
Floor & Operational Duties
Working closely alongside our event supervisors and site coordinators, your daily duties will include:
- Assisting with the physical setup of event spaces, including setting up registration desks, banners, and display units.
- Greeting attendees at doors, scanning tickets, handing out badges, and providing clear directional info.
- Monitoring guest queues during peak entry times to keep footfall flowing evenly and safely.
- Helping manage Q&A sessions or presentation stages by coordinating microphones and seating setups.
- Checking venue spaces regularly during live sessions to keep information points tidy and fully stocked.
- Answering general visitor enquiries politely and escalating complex issues to site leads promptly.
- Assisting suppliers, caterers, and technical crews with load-in and load-out access on shift.
- Packing down equipment, counting promotional stock, and organizing gear dispatches after event closures.
What We Look For
We place far more value on shift dependability, a polite manner, and a proactive floor presence than on years of prior event experience. We look for:
- A friendly, polite manner when welcoming members of the public and venue partners.
- High personal standards regarding punctuality, shift attendance, and teamwork.
- Comfort working active, floor-based shifts and staying focused during busy periods.
- Good attention to detail when following site checklists, inventory lists, and safety rules.
- A flexible, positive attitude when shift tasks or floor duties change during an event run.
- Previous experience in customer service, retail, hospitality, administration, or university society support is a plus, but not essential as full training is provided.
Onboarding & Practical Progression
We ensure you receive direct, step-by-step guidance so you build genuine event delivery skills with total confidence.
Your induction begins by pairing up with an experienced event lead, learning our site routines, venue protocols, and guest service standards. Through regular feedback sessions with your supervisor, you will refine your floor awareness, event logistics knowledge, and problem-solving skills. As you get comfortable with live operations, you will take ownership of specific venue zones, help brief event support staff, and progress toward event coordinator responsibilities.
Package & Perks
- Competitive base salary
- Enhanced pay rates for weekend shifts
- Performance-based bonuses linked to event operational standards
- Full initial training covering event logistics, guest care, and site safety
- Regular one-to-one coaching and continuous skill development
- Hands-on practical experience across live Liverpool venues and activations
- Team social events and group incentives
- Formal recognition for shift reliability, thorough preparation, and floor support
- Clear internal pathways to take on event coordinator and venue lead roles
