Where the Magic Happens:

Ashburton District Council is seeking an Events Coodinator to lead the planning, coordination and delivery of Council's key civic and community events, while also driving opportunities to grow the district's event portfolio and reputation as a destination for events.

This is a varied and rewarding role where you'll oversee Council-led events, develop strategic partnerships, identify new event opportunities, support the growth of established events, and contribute to the economic and social vibrancy of the Ashburton District.

Working closely with the Economic Development team, community organisations, event organisers, sponsors and key stakeholders, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring events are delivered professionally, safely and successfully while creating lasting benefits for our district.

  • Flexibility to work when the action happens (yes, sometimes after hours!)

The Perks of the Production:

You’ll be based in our stunning new building, Te Whare Whakatere, working with a team that’s friendly, supportive, and just a little bit extra (in all the right ways).

And outside of work? Ashburton offers a lifestyle that’s hard to beat — with Mt Hutt’s ski slopes, Lake Hood’s water sports, and Christchurch just up the road.

Here’s a taste of the perks:

  • Professional development (grow your skills and your confidence)
  • Annual performance and pay reviews
  • Flexible work options (because life happens)
  • Health and wellness benefits
  • Birthday leave + option to buy extra leave
