What they need

Events Manager

Department: Events Department

Reports to: General Manager

Employment type: Full-time

The role

If you enjoy turning a floor plan into a space people want to walk into, you will like this role.

You will run our events from start to finish, from the first idea to the post-event review. That includes roadshows, brand activations, mall atrium activations, department store activations, PR events and subsidiary brand events.

Every event is a chance to show people what our brand is about. Your job is to make each one a great brand show: well planned, well built, and running smoothly on the day.

You will work with our internal team and agencies on concepts, then lead the operations and project management that bring them to life. You get real ownership: the calendar, the budget, the inventory, the site and the people on it.

What you will do

  • Plan the year
  • Build and keep the annual events calendar.
  • Work closely with internal teams so events line up with product launches and campaigns.
  • Propose a budget for each event and get it approved before spending.
  • Book venues early so there is time for permits, space bookings and logistics.

Shape the concept

  • Develop event concepts with the internal team and external agencies.
  • Brief agencies, designers, booth contractors and fabricators, and check quotes before sign-off.
  • Review technical drawings, floor plans and booth layouts for dimensions, venue rules, customer flow and safety.
  • Plan product placement, fixtures and signage so the build matches the concept.

Run the project

  • Put together each event's project plan: timeline, milestones, manpower roster, vendor responsibilities and run sheet.
  • Keep every event on track and flag delays early.
  • Secure venue agreements, permits, safety clearances and insurance where needed.
  • Negotiate rates and terms with mall operators, landlords and vendors.
  • Work closely with internal teams and brief them on their roles and timelines.

Build the event team

  • Source part-time event manpower through your network, job platforms or manpower agencies.
  • Schedule, onboard and brief part-timers before each event.
  • Build a pool of reliable part-timers you can call on.
  • Keep accurate records of part-timer hours for payroll.

Look after event inventory

  • Own all event inventory: fixtures, props, display units, equipment and stock allocated to events.
  • Keep an up-to-date inventory register with quantity, condition and location.
  • Reconcile inventory before and after every event, and report any loss or damage.
  • Plan repairs, replacements, purchases and rentals within budget.

Lead on site

  • Oversee delivery, unloading and booth build.
  • Run final safety and layout checks before doors open.
  • Manage manpower, contractors, vendors and venue requirements on site.
  • Brief the on-site team before each event day.
  • Sort out issues on the spot so the event keeps running.
  • Keep the booth looking its best for the whole event, not just day one.

Close and review

  • Supervise tear-down and removal within venue deadlines.
  • Write a post-event report after every event: how it went, what worked and what to change next time.
  • Update the events calendar and SOPs with what you learned.

Why you will enjoy this role

  • You own events from idea to tear-down. Your decisions show up on the floor.
  • You get a mix of creative and operations work: shaping concepts with agencies, then making them real.
  • No two events are the same. New venues, new concepts, new problems to solve.
  • You see the result of your work the moment the doors open and people walk in.

What you will bring

Must have

  • Diploma or degree in Events Management, Business, Marketing or a related field.
  • At least 3 years in events operations or event project management, running events from planning to post-event review.
  • Experience with large-scale events, such as mall atrium activations, brand activations, consumer fairs, exhibitions or product launches. We would love to hear about two or three you ran: the size, the budget and your part in it.
  • Comfortable reading technical drawings, floor plans and booth layouts.
  • Experience managing event budgets, agencies, contractors and part-time crew.
  • Working knowledge of Singapore event permits and safety requirements.
  • Happy to be on site for set-ups and long event days, including weekends and public holidays during event periods.

Good to have

  • Background in visual merchandising, retail display, interior or spatial design, or set design.
  • An eye for layout, spacing and display, with a portfolio to show it.
  • Experience with a retail or consumer brand.

How you work

  • Resourceful. When a vendor drops out or stock runs short, you find another way and still open on time.
  • Nimble. You move fast and adjust when plans change.
  • Ownership. You treat each event as your own, from the first plan to the last box returned.
  • Steady. Set-up nights rarely go to plan. You stay calm and make the call.
  • Hands-on. You are happy on the floor during set-up and tear-down.
  • Detail-minded. You check the drawings, count the inventory and walk the booth before opening.
  • Clear communicator. People leave your briefing knowing exactly what to do.
  • Always improving. You note what did not work and fix it next time.

Skills

  • Strong project management: timelines, budgets and several events at once.
  • Good negotiator with vendors and venue operators.
  • Proficient in MS Office. Project management tools are a plus.

Pay: $4,000.00 - $5,000.00 per month

Benefits:

  • Employee discount
  • Flexible schedule
  • Health insurance
