EVENTS OPS MANAGER

Be part of one of London's most significant cultural openings.

On 28th November 2026, the new London Museum will open its doors in the heart of historic Smithfield, marking the culmination of a decade-long transformation of the iconic Victorian General Market into one of the world's most exciting new cultural destinations. Bringing together thousands of years of London's history with an ambitious programme of world-class events, experiences and hospitality, the museum is set to become a landmark destination for Londoners and international visitors alike.

Green & Fortune has been selected as the hospitality partner for this extraordinary venue, creating a unique opportunity for an exceptional hospitality leader to help shape its future from day one.

We are seeking an ambitious and inspirational Events Ops Manager to lead one of London's most prestigious event operations. This is far more than an operational leadership role. It is an opportunity to build a flagship events business, establish world-class standards and create experiences that become synonymous with one of London's most anticipated openings. This role will report to the Event Director.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the planning and operational delivery of a diverse portfolio of events, ensuring exceptional guest experiences and outstanding service standards.
  • Drive operational excellence through effective planning, innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Lead, inspire and develop a high-performing Events Operations team, creating a positive and engaging culture.
  • Work collaboratively with Sales, Culinary, Front of House and the wider leadership team to deliver seamless event experiences.
  • Oversee workforce planning, scheduling and labour cost management to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Manage budgets, monitor financial performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, partners and key stakeholders, ensuring every event exceeds expectations.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety, food safety, licensing and all relevant company policies.
  • Manage external suppliers and agency partners to support successful event delivery.
  • Contribute to the successful launch and ongoing growth of the London Museum hospitality operation, helping to establish it as one of London's leading events destinations.

ABOUT YOU

  • Significant experience in an Events Operations leadership role within premium hospitality, events or venues.
  • A proven track record of delivering high-profile, large-scale events while maintaining exceptional service standards.
  • A commercially minded leader with strong financial awareness and the ability to drive operational performance.
  • An inspiring people leader with experience developing, motivating and leading high-performing teams.
  • Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A collaborative and influential communicator, confident in building strong relationships with clients, colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Passionate about hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences, with the ambition to help shape one of London's most exciting new cultural destinations.
