We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Excavation Laborer / Equipment Operator to join our growing team. This position involves performing general excavation labor, operating heavy equipment, assisting with underground utility installation, site preparation, grading, and other excavation-related tasks. The ideal candidate has experience working in the excavation or construction industry or a willingness to learn, can work safely in a fast-paced environment, and is willing to perform both equipment operation and physical labor as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment including excavators, skid steers, loaders, and compact equipment.
• Assist with excavation, trenching, grading, and site preparation activities.
• Install underground utilities including water, sewer, storm drain, and conduit systems.
• Perform manual labor such as shoveling, hand grading, pipe laying, and site cleanup.
• Follow grade stakes, project plans, and directions from supervisors.
• Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment.
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance issues.
• Assist with traffic control and job-site safety measures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Work effectively as part of a crew to complete projects on schedule.

Qualifications

• Previous excavation, utility, construction, or heavy equipment experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to safely operate excavators, skid steers, loaders, or similar equipment.
• Knowledge of trench safety and excavation practices is a plus.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to read and follow basic construction plans and grade information.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and positive attitude.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment screenings.

Schedule

• Full-time

• Overtime and occasional weekend work available

Pay

$20.00–$28.00 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.
