Position Title: Excavator Operator and/or Laborer

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Excavator Operator and Laborer to join our team. This dual-role position requires operating heavy machinery, particularly excavators, to perform site excavation tasks, as well as assisting with general labor duties on-site. The ideal candidate should have a strong work ethic, attention to safety, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

Excavator Operation:

Operate excavators and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently for site excavation, trenching, grading, and material movement.

Read and interpret site plans, blueprints, and project specifications to execute tasks accurately.

Perform routine maintenance checks and minor repairs to ensure equipment is in proper working condition.

Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and safe work environment around the equipment.

Laborer Duties:

Assist with manual tasks such as digging, lifting, and moving materials as required.

Support site preparation, cleanup, and organization.

Install and maintain barriers, signs, and other site safety measures.

Follow instructions from supervisors and collaborate with the team to meet project deadlines.

Qualifications and Requirements

Proven experience as an excavator operator and/or construction laborer.

Physical ability to lift heavy objects, work outdoors in various weather conditions, and perform labor-intensive tasks.

Strong understanding of excavation techniques and safety procedures.

Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Availability to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.

Clean driving record.

Adhere to zero tolerance drug and alcohol policy.

Preferred Skills

Experience with multiple types of heavy equipment (e.g., backhoes, loaders).

Knowledge of utility line excavation and underground installations.

Work Environment

Outdoor construction sites with exposure to varying weather conditions.

Requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods.

Safety gear (PPE) provided and required at all times.
