About the role

Mascot Borneo Engineering Sdn Bhd is seeking a skilled and experienced Excavator Operator to join our construction team in Bintulu, Sarawak. This is a full-time position where you will operate heavy excavation machinery on various construction projects. As an Excavator Operator, you will play a crucial role in our site operations, ensuring efficient and safe execution of earthmoving tasks that are essential to project timelines and quality standards. This position is based on-site in Bintulu, Sarawak, where you will work directly with our construction teams to deliver excellence in every project we undertake.

What you'll be doing

• Operating 120 excavators and other heavy machinery to excavate, move, and position materials on construction sites
• Performing pre-operational inspections and routine maintenance checks on excavation equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation
• Following site safety procedures and adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations and guidelines
• Communicating effectively with site supervisors, spotters, and other team members to coordinate work activities and maintain site safety
• Excavating foundations, trenches, and other earthwork as directed by project specifications and site engineers
• Operating machinery with precision to meet project requirements whilst minimising waste and damage to surrounding structures
• Maintaining accurate records of work completed, hours worked, and any equipment issues or incidents
• Contributing to a positive and safety-conscious workplace culture on site

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as an Excavator Operator in construction or earthmoving industries, ideally with 3+ years of experience
• Valid CIDB and current Heavy Equipment Operator certification or equivalent qualification recognised in Malaysia
• Strong understanding of excavation safety protocols, site safety standards, and relevant construction regulations
• Excellent hand-eye coordination, spatial awareness, and ability to operate machinery with precision
• Mechanical aptitude with ability to perform basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
• Physical fitness and ability to work in varying weather conditions and challenging terrain
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a construction team
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high safety standards on site
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and site plans
• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to different project sites as required
