Excavator Operator

Essential skills and attributes include:

• A valid Class 1 - 4 Full New Zealand Drivers Licence and with WTR endorsements beneficial.

• Must be an NZ citizen, NZ resident, or eligible to work in NZ.

• Are a clear communicator and enjoy working as a team to drive success onsite

• Minimum of 3 years' practical Excavator Operating experience

• No qualification required

• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen and comply with our drug and alcohol policy

• Perform pre-start checks and daily maintenance on machinery, including lubricating, fuelling, and reporting any faults or defects

• Experience in civil road construction and/or maintenance and with strong understanding of earthmoving techniques and procedures

• Work will be performed on construction sites and in various outdoor environments.

• Expert on loading construction materials to the truck, knowledge of different types of digging attachments

• Operate excavators of various sizes and attachments safely and efficiently, adhering to all relevant regulations and company policies.

• Perform excavation, trenching, backfilling, grading, and other earthmoving tasks according to project specifications and site plans.

• This role will at times involve experience in erosion and sediment control measures, shear key earthworks, bulk earthworks, trenching, and trimming to final surface levels

• Ability to work in any weather condition and exposed to the elements, noise, dust.

• Willingness to assist with maintenance, clean-up and anything else that requires attention as directed by the Site Supervisor or Manager

• Ability to identify potential hazards in and around the work area

• Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including always wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
