Excavator Operator – Civil Construction

We are seeking experienced Civil Excavator Operators for full-time, ongoing opportunities with well-established civil construction companies across Melbourne’s northern and western suburbs.

The projects include residential subdivisions, bulk earthworks, drainage, underground services and site preparation. We’re looking for experienced operators who can work confidently on civil sites and deliver accurate, high-quality work.

Ability to operate GPS machinery is highly advantageous.

What you'll be doing

• Operating excavators on civil construction and subdivision projects.
• Completing bulk earthworks, trenching, drainage and underground service works.
• Performing accurate final trim and detailed excavation.
• Using GPS machine control systems to achieve accurate levels and profiles.
• Working around live services, other machinery and site crews.
• Reading site plans and following instructions to meet project requirements.
• Maintaining a safe, clean and productive work environment.

What we're looking for

• Minimum 3 years of full-time excavator operating experience.
• Strong civil construction experience, particularly subdivisions and earthworks.
• Proven GPS machine control experience is very advantageous.
• Experience with final trim and detailed excavation.
• Knowledge of drainage, trenching and underground services.
• Ability to read levels and follow site plans.
• Strong awareness of site safety and working around live services.
• Reliable, hardworking and able to work well within a team.
• Relevant tickets and licences.
