Excavator Operator

Duties

• Operate excavators safely and efficiently to dig trenches, foundations, and holes according to project specifications
• Assist with loading and unloading materials using excavators, loaders, and other heavy machinery
• Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance
• Collaborate with team members to coordinate site activities and maintain smooth workflow
• Support other heavy equipment operations such as dozers, backhoes, graders, and pavers as needed
• Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and site safety procedures
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, equipment usage, and maintenance needs

Skills

• Proven experience operating excavators in a construction environment with a strong understanding of heavy machinery functions
• Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor issues and perform basic maintenance on equipment
• Ability to operate related machinery such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and pavers effectively
• Familiarity with horizontal drilling techniques and other specialized construction methods is a plus
• Strong understanding of construction safety standards and protocols
• Excellent communication skills for teamwork and on-site coordination

Pay: $25.27-$42.67 per hour

Expected hours: 50.0 per week
