EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT TO THE APOSTLE/DIRECTOR
People of Influence Network (POI)
Location: V.I, Lagos, Nigeria | Work Mode: Full-Time
Department: Apostle/Director’s Office
Reports to: Apostle/Director
About People of Influence Network
People of Influence Network (POI) is a global Christian ministry and non-governmental organisation committed to raising people of influence, strengthening families, developing communities, and advancing the Kingdom of God through various ministry expressions and initiatives.
As a growing global organisation with multiple expressions, programmes, teams, partners and stakeholders, we are seeking an exceptional Executive Assistant to the Apostle/Director to provide high-level executive, administrative, operational and strategic support to the Apostle/Director.
The Role
The Executive Assistant will serve as a trusted and highly capable extension of the Apostle/Director, ensuring that the Director’s office operates with excellence, structure, efficiency, discretion and strategic alignment.
This is not a conventional administrative or personal assistant role. We are looking for a mature professional who is able to think ahead, create and improve systems, coordinate people and operations, manage sensitive information, drive execution and confidently interface with senior stakeholders on behalf of the Apostle/Director.
The successful candidate must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment and possess the maturity and judgement required to operate around senior leaders, high-profile individuals, ministry leaders, partners, donors, executives and other high-value stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
1. Executive Support
- Manage and coordinate the Apostle/Director’s calendar, meetings, appointments, engagements and priorities.
- Prepare meeting briefs, agendas, reports, correspondence, presentations and other executive materials.
- Ensure the Apostle/Director is adequately prepared for meetings, events, travels and strategic engagements.
- Track decisions, commitments and action points arising from the Director’s office and ensure timely follow-through.
- Anticipate the Apostle/Director’s needs and proactively address matters before they become challenges.
2. Strategic & Operational Coordination
- Support the Apostle/Director in coordinating key organisational priorities, initiatives and strategic projects.
- Establish systems, structures, workflows and processes that improve the effectiveness of the Director’s Office.
- Coordinate across POI’s various departments, ministry expressions and project teams to ensure alignment and execution.
- Monitor key deliverables and follow up with responsible team members to ensure deadlines are met.
- Identify operational gaps and recommend practical solutions.
3. Team & Project Leadership
- Coordinate and, where required, lead teams working on projects or assignments delegated by the Apostle/Director.
- Assign responsibilities, establish timelines and monitor progress.
- Drive accountability and ensure agreed actions are completed to the required standard.
- Facilitate effective communication between the Apostle/Director’s Office and internal teams.
4. Stakeholder & Relationship Management
- Serve as a professional point of contact between the Apostle/Director and key internal and external stakeholders.
- Build and maintain excellent relationships with senior executives, ministry leaders, government and corporate stakeholders, partners, donors, consultants and other high-level contacts.
- Represent the Apostle/Director’s Office with exceptional professionalism, discretion and emotional intelligence.
- Coordinate high-level meetings, visits, engagements and hospitality where required.
5. Travel & International Engagements
- Coordinate local and international travel arrangements, itineraries, accommodation, schedules and logistics.
- Support the Apostle/Director during international engagements and ensure seamless coordination of related activities.
- Manage travel documentation, briefing materials and schedules.
- Demonstrate the cultural awareness and professional confidence required when interacting across different countries and cultures.
6. Administration, Documentation & Confidentiality
- Maintain an organised and efficient executive office system.
- Manage confidential documents, correspondence, records and information with absolute discretion.
- Develop appropriate filing, tracking, reporting and information-management systems.
- Draft, review and coordinate official correspondence and communications on behalf of the Director’s Office.
- Maintain accurate records of meetings, decisions, contacts and key organisational matters.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for an individual who demonstrates:
- Exceptional maturity, wisdom and sound judgement.
- Strong executive presence and the confidence to engage senior-level stakeholders.
- International exposure, including meaningful experience travelling outside Nigeria and interacting with people from different cultures and professional environments.
- Excellent communication, writing, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational and project-management abilities.
- The ability to build structures, systems and processes from the ground up.
- Proven ability to coordinate and lead people effectively.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- High emotional intelligence, discretion and confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative and anticipate needs.
- Strong attention to detail without losing sight of the bigger picture.
- Excellent time management and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Professionalism, poise and excellent personal presentation.
- The ability to work effectively in a dynamic, high-expectation environment.
- A strong sense of ownership, accountability and excellence.
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Social Sciences, Communications, or a related field.
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience, preferably in executive assistance, executive office management, operations, project management, consulting, corporate administration or a similar senior support capacity.
- Previous experience supporting a senior executive, CEO, founder, director, ministry leader or other high-level principal is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrable experience coordinating teams, projects, events or organisational operations.
- Experience developing or implementing administrative/operational systems and processes.
- Experience working with senior stakeholders, clients, partners or high-value individuals.
- International exposure and experience travelling abroad are strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Workspace and other relevant productivity and project-management tools.
Spiritual & Character Expectations
As this is a leadership-support role within a global Christian ministry, the successful candidate must demonstrate:
- A genuine and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Strong Christian character, integrity and personal discipline.
- Maturity, humility, wisdom and respect for leadership.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters responsibly.
- Commitment to excellence, accountability, service and stewardship.
- Alignment with the vision, values and mission of People of Influence Network.
- The ability to work effectively within a Christian ministry environment while maintaining a high standard of professional excellence.
What Success in This Role Looks Like
The successful Executive Assistant will ensure that the Apostle/Director’s Office is well-structured, proactive, organised and highly effective.
They will bring order to complexity, anticipate needs, ensure important matters are followed through, coordinate people and priorities effectively, and create systems that enable the Apostle/Director to focus on strategic leadership, ministry and organisational growth.
This role is ideal for a mature, globally exposed and highly capable professional who can combine executive-level professionalism with strong Christian character, operational excellence and a genuine heart for service.
