Executive Chef

Job Summary

The Wilderness is seeking an experienced, creative, and dependable Executive Chef to lead kitchen operations, oversee menu development, and maintain exceptional food quality and presentation standards. The ideal candidate should have strong culinary expertise, proven leadership abilities, and experience managing a kitchen team in a busy restaurant environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all kitchen operations and food production activities
• Lead, supervise, and develop kitchen staff
• Create and update menus featuring high-quality dishes
• Maintain consistent food quality, taste, presentation, and portion standards
• Coordinate food preparation and service during busy periods
• Manage food inventory, purchasing, and supplier relationships
• Monitor kitchen budgets, control food costs, and minimize waste
• Establish efficient kitchen procedures and workflow
• Maintain clean, organized, and well-equipped kitchen facilities
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards

Requirements

• Previous Executive Chef, Head Chef, or senior culinary management experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, menu planning, and food presentation
• Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills
• Strong budgeting, inventory, and cost-control abilities
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced restaurant environment
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations
