Location: UOA Business Park, Shah Alam
Employment Type: Permanent
Reporting To: Manager, Corporate Communications
Experience: 1–2 years
Role Purpose
The Corporate Communications Executive supports the development and execution of internal and external communications across Mewah Group.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys turning ideas and information into clear, engaging communications. The role works across content creation, visual communications, digital and social media, employee communications, events and day-to-day communications coordination.
Beyond execution, the role requires someone who is curious, resourceful and willing to understand the business behind the communication. The successful candidate should be comfortable asking questions, seeking information from stakeholders and taking ownership of assigned work from brief through completion.
Key Responsibilities
Develop written and visual content for internal and external communication channels, including LinkedIn, Viva Engage, email communications, campaigns and corporate materials.
Write, edit and proofread communications content, including social media captions, announcements, articles, scripts and campaign materials.
Design communication materials using Adobe Illustrator, Canva and other relevant creative tools, in line with Mewah's corporate identity.
Support video content development, including basic editing using Adobe Premiere Pro and coordination of required footage, information and assets.
Translate communication briefs and business information into appropriate content and creative executions for different audiences and channels.
Work with internal stakeholders across functions and business entities to actively obtain information, clarify requirements and gather supporting materials needed to complete communications work.
Support Corporate Communications campaigns, employee engagement initiatives, events and other Group-level communication activities.
Coordinate with external vendors where required, including designers, printers, photographers, videographers and other communications service providers.
Maintain communication calendars, project trackers, content archives, creative files and other departmental records.
Support the consistent application of Mewah's corporate brand and visual identity across communications materials.
Monitor assigned projects and follow through on actions, timelines and stakeholder requirements until completion.
Use digital and AI-enabled tools responsibly to support research, ideation, content development and productivity while exercising independent judgement over final outputs.
Undertake other Corporate Communications assignments as required, including occasional domestic travel.
What We're Looking For
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Communications, Mass Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Multimedia, Design or a related field.
1–2 years of relevant working experience in corporate communications, content, social media, creative communications or a related role.
Strong written English and the ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely.
Working proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Premiere Pro and Canva.
Good visual sense and ability to develop clean, professional communication materials.
Comfortable working with different stakeholders and proactively seeking information required to complete assignments.
Curious about businesses, industries and how organisations work, with a willingness to learn beyond the immediate task.
Able to manage multiple assignments, organise work and follow through without requiring constant reminders.
Comfortable asking questions, proposing solutions and exercising judgement when information or instructions are incomplete.
Resourceful, adaptable and willing to learn new tools, including emerging AI and digital technologies.
Able to work independently as capability develops while also collaborating closely with the Corporate Communications team.
Comfortable working in a communications environment where priorities and timelines may occasionally change quickly.
What Success Looks Like
Within the role, the successful candidate should progressively be able to:
Understand the objective → identify what information is missing → find the right stakeholders → ask the right questions → propose an execution → produce the work → follow through → seek review.
Over time, the Executive should be able to take ownership of assigned communications projects with increasingly limited supervision, while escalating important decisions appropriately.
