About CASA of Sedgwick County

CASA of Sedgwick County recruits, trains, and supports community volunteers who are appointed by the court to advocate for the best interests of children who have experienced abuse or neglect. Our volunteer advocates are often the one consistent adult presence a child has throughout a case.

The organization operates in the 18th Judicial District and is a member program of Kansas CASA and the National CASA/GAL Association. We currently serve 135 children with 82 active volunteer advocates, on an annual operating budget of approximately $550,000, with a staff of 6.

  • Structure today: three Advocate Supervisors carrying assigned caseloads, one Office Manager, and one Volunteer Coordinator.
  • Funding: a mix of state and federal grants (including VOCA, CVAF, and the Kansas CASA grant), local foundation and corporate grants, individual giving, and fundraising events.
