Executive, Purchasing

Position Summary

The Executive, Purchasing is responsible for the purchasing execution of assigned goods and services in accordance with the quality, delivery, and pricing expectations of customers for fast-paced industries.

The role acts as a key operational execution function to ensure no disruptions of materials supply to the production line, optimize inventory control, manage excess and obsolete materials, and maintain strong supplier partnerships while adhering to customer requirements and commitments.

Key Responsibilities

A. Material Purchasing & Expediting Execution

• Expedite material to fulfill production requirements, customer upsides, NPIs (New Product Introductions), and transitions.
• Ensure no disruptions of materials supply to the Production line.
• Develop recovery plans when needed to restore on-time delivery goals.

B. Inventory Control & Excess Management

• Review potential inventory excess before driving material / generating MRP to release PO's.
• Minimize inventory while maintaining adequate material level to meet production plans.
• Responsible for managing Excess & Obsolete materials.
• Optimize the inventory control: ensure timely distribution of finished goods to sales and materials to production.

C. Customer Requirements & Supplier Partnership Management

• Manage and coordinate customer's requirements (e.g., demand plan, change request, evaluation, etc.) and ensure commit ship dates to customers are met at all times.
• Maintain good partnership with supplier to ensure flawless support.

D. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Other Tasks

• Collaborate with Quality control, purchasing, logistics, sales, and management.
• Any other task assigned by Superior from time to time.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

The Executive, Purchasing will be accountable for, but not limited to:

• Zero material supply disruption to production lines.
• On-time delivery goals restoration and customer commit ship date compliance.
• Inventory optimization and reduction of Excess & Obsolete materials.
• Timely MRP review and Purchase Order (PO) release against production demand.
• Flawless supplier support and effective cross-functional collaboration.

Technical Competencies

Procurement & System Capabilities

• Proficient in using procurement software (e.g., SAP), ERP systems, and MS Office Suite.
• Understanding of MRP generation, Purchase Order (PO) release, and inventory control.

Analytical & Operational Competencies

• Analytical skills for inventory excess review and material forecasting.
• Knowledge of production requirement expediting, NPIs, transitions, and Excess & Obsolete (E&O) material management.

Leadership & Behavioural Competencies

The successful candidate should demonstrate:

• Communication & Decision-Making: Good communication, analytical, and good decision-making skills.
• Language Proficiency: Proficient in English and Malay and Mandarin Speaker

• Independence & Initiative: Must have initiative and able to work independently with minimum supervision.

Authority & Accountability

The Executive, Purchasing is expected to:

• Review inventory excess prior to generating MRP and releasing POs.
• Develop recovery plans to align delivery targets.
• Coordinate customer requirements and ensure commit ship dates are met.
• Execute day-to-day purchasing activities independently with minimum supervision.

Pay: RM2,800.00 - RM4,000.00 per month
