What they need
Proactive Lifestyle Fitness | Katy, TX
Not Every Personal Trainer Is the Right Fit for Our Team.
We're selective about who we bring into Proactive Lifestyle Fitness, because the people we work with deserve more than someone who simply counts reps.
We're looking for a trainer who takes pride in their craft, genuinely cares about people, and wants to build a career helping adults in their 50s, 60s, 70s, and beyond become stronger, more capable, and more confident.
If you're looking for a place to simply clock in, train a few sessions, and go home, this probably isn't for you.
But if you want to be part of a team where your coaching makes a real difference in people's lives, we'd like to learn more about you.
Who We Are
Proactive Lifestyle Fitness isn't your typical gym.
We specialize in helping adults 50+ build the strength, balance, and mobility they need to continue living life on their terms.
For our clients, success isn't just about lifting heavier weights.
It's being able to travel without worrying about keeping up. Getting off the floor confidently. Playing with grandkids. Walking stairs without hesitation. Maintaining the freedom to do the things they love.
We've built our business around delivering these results through personalized coaching, a proven training approach, and genuine relationships.
We don't try to be the right gym for everyone. We focus on being exceptional for the people we serve.
And we hold our trainers to that same standard.
What Makes This Opportunity Different?
You get to focus on coaching, not chasing clients.
Unlike traditional personal training positions where you're expected to sell memberships on the gym floor, post constantly on social media, or prospect strangers, we've built our own in-house marketing system.
Our team generates leads through paid advertising and brings interested prospects into the business.
Your responsibility is to deliver an exceptional coaching experience, help prospective clients understand the value of our program, and build lasting client relationships.
You'll have the opportunity to:
- Work with an established business specializing in adults 50+
- Train clients who genuinely value expert coaching and personalized attention
- Coach in a welcoming, relationship-focused environment rather than a crowded big-box gym
- Develop your ability to assess, communicate, coach, and guide clients toward long-term results
- Be part of a team that takes pride in the quality of its work
- See firsthand how your coaching improves someone's everyday life
What You'll Be Responsible For
This position requires more than simply knowing exercises.
You'll be expected to:
- Deliver exceptional one-on-one and semi-private personal training sessions
- Assess clients' strength, mobility, limitations, and individual goals
- Design and adapt training programs to fit each client's needs
- Help prospective clients understand how our approach can improve their lives
- Communicate confidently and compassionately with mature adults
- Track progress, celebrate milestones, and keep clients motivated
- Build the trust and relationships that keep clients coming back for years
- Contribute positively to a professional, supportive, team-oriented environment
Who We're Looking For
We care just as much about your character as your credentials.
The trainers who thrive here are patient, personable, dependable, and genuinely invested in helping people succeed.
We're particularly interested in applicants who:
- Have previous personal training experience, ideally with adults 50+
- Hold a nationally recognized personal training certification (NASM, ACE, ACSM, or equivalent preferred)
- Have a bachelor's degree in Exercise Science or a related field (preferred)
- Hold current CPR/AED certification
- Are confident communicating with clients and explaining the value of personalized coaching
- Are naturally patient, attentive, and encouraging
- Take initiative and hold themselves to high professional standards
- Want to become part of a team, not simply work alongside one
Most importantly, you need to care about the person you're training, not just the workout you're delivering.
Our Application Process
We're intentional about who joins our team, and we're not looking to fill this position with just anyone.
We're looking for the right personality, the right mindset, and someone who genuinely connects with our mission.
If you believe you're the kind of trainer who would excel in this environment, we encourage you to apply.
Tell us about your coaching experience, why you enjoy working with people, and what makes you a strong fit for Proactive Lifestyle Fitness.
To be considered for an interview:
Apply directly through Indeed or email your resume and a brief introduction to [email protected].
We're looking for the right addition to our team. Show us why that should be you.
