ddi is a Veteran-owned business located in Wharton, NJ looking for a skilled CAD Drafter to create detailed 3D models and production drawings for trade show exhibits and corporate environments. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of 3D space, experience 3D modeling in AutoCAD, and practical knowledge of fabrication across multiple mediums.

Position Type: Full-Time / In-Person

Location: Wharton, NJ

Department: Design & Drafting

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (With flexibility for non-standard hours)

Compensation: Commensurate with experience

Key Responsibilities

Drafting & 3D Modeling

• Develop accurate 3D models and detailed technical drawings using AutoCAD for custom trade show booths, corporate displays, and event structures.
• Translate creative design concepts into practical 3D spatial layouts, ensuring spatial accuracy and visual functionality.

Fabrication & Production Support

• Prepare comprehensive construction drawings and cut lists for fabrication across various materials including wood, metal, plastics, and fabrics.
• Collaborate closely with project managers and shop craftsmen to address engineering challenges, material selection, and build feasibility.

Qualifications & Skills

• Technical Proficiency: Strong proficiency in 3D modeling with AutoCAD and a solid comprehension of 3D spatial environments.
• Fabrication Knowledge: Hands-on experience or working knowledge of fabrication processes using multiple mediums (e.g., millwork, metal fabrication, plastics, graphics printing).
• Mindset & Drive: Strong sense of ownership and follow-through with the ability to identify gaps, drive next steps, and move forward without heavy oversight. Problem solver, curious, and inspired to act.
• Adaptability: Comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities, evolving timelines, and high-pressure situations.
• Travel & Schedule Flexibility: Ability and interest to travel both domestically and internationally. Willingness to work non-standard hours including evenings or occasional weekends to support event schedules and global time zones.
• Attention to Detail: High degree of precision in producing construction-ready drafting sets and specifications.
