Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our dynamic dental team. Responsibilities

• Assist dentists during a wide range of dental procedures including restorations, extractions, endodontics, and prosthodontics with efficiency and professionalism
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary equipment, and ensuring all dental tools are ready for use in accordance with infection prevention management policies
• Take high-quality dental x-rays and medical imaging while adhering to radiation safety standards and HIPAA regulations for patient privacy
• Manage patient records accurately using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring all medical documentation is complete and up-to-date
• Provide patient care by taking vital signs, explaining procedures clearly, and ensuring comfort throughout treatment sessions
• Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while handling sensitive medical and dental records in compliance with HIPAA standards
• Support dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques to uphold the highest standards of infection control within the clinic

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with expanded functions certification or equivalent training in dental assisting
• Proficiency in dental software such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar patient management software
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry
• Ability to operate dental equipment including 3D scanners, X-ray machines, and other medical imaging devices safely and effectively
• Familiarity with infection prevention management practices and sterilization procedures aligned with healthcare infection control standards
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and provide outstanding patient care
• Knowledge of healthcare regulations including HIPAA compliance and clinical confidentiality policies
• Ability to perform chairside assisting using four-handed dentistry techniques efficiently in a fast-paced environment
