The Horowitz Andreessen Academy is a playground for an incredible experience designer.

This role isn't for someone who just wants to create 2-3 fancy event per year that will look good on Instagram, it's for someone who is going to take on the day-to-day operational challenge of ensuring that students have a persistently good experience at the Academy. Ideally, you've got a great eye and know how to scale yourself. And yes you'll likely have at least one more FTE underneath you.

The Academy will be a place with dozens of tech illuminati come on a monthly basis, but also a place where students need to lock in and build. They will have a social life, and be exposed to fun and unique experiences that I honestly can't even dream up right now but you can. Here's an example of the purview you could have in this role:

• Find extremely unique people to come speak and run workshops at the Academy. Some will be for students only, others for the public.
• Design hackathons, galas, offsites targeting either young builders or the broader tech community.
• Create a culture of fun and exploration both within the Academy walls and also for the students to enjoy outside the Academy.
• Build partnerships with major SF institutions such as SF MOMA, the Exploratorium, or the De Young Museum.
• Create a small "museum of technology" within the space so students and guests have an awesome landing place when they arrive.
• Design ice breakers, factory tours, evening adventures, pop-ups, and art events. Or, perhaps more importantly, create the conditions so that our students can self-organize these types of activities.

You must love designing for college-aged students, since the majority of the things you'll be creating are for them.
