Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes with speed and precision, ensuring consistency and quality in every plate
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including grills, braising pans, poaching stations, and food prep tools
• Follow standardized recipes meticulously to maintain flavor profiles and presentation standards
• Assist in menu planning and contribute ideas for new dishes or specials based on seasonal ingredients and customer preferences
• Maintain strict adherence to food safety protocols, sanitizing all surfaces and equipment regularly to ensure a hygienic workspace
• Manage high-volume food production while meeting tight deadlines during busy service hours
• Handle food with care, demonstrating excellent knife skills and proper food handling techniques to prevent cross-contamination
• Support dietary department needs by preparing specialized meals that meet dietary restrictions or nutritional guidelines
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely delivery of orders

Experience

• Proven experience as a cook in fast-paced restaurant or catering environments, preferably with fine dining or high-volume settings
• Strong knowledge of food industry standards, including food safety management, sanitizing procedures, and proper food handling practices
• Demonstrated ability to execute diverse cooking techniques such as grilling, braising, poaching, and meal preparation
• Experience with menu planning, recipe adherence, and food production processes
• Familiarity with operating various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
• Background in dietary aide work or dietary department experience is a plus
• Excellent knife skills coupled with the ability to work quickly without sacrificing quality
• Prior experience in the food service industry that showcases your capacity for multitasking under pressure
