Experienced AI Cloud Engineer

We’re partnering with a large international financial organisation to recruit an experienced AI Cloud Engineer for a team developing production-grade generative AI products for corporate banking.

This is a hands-on position combining AWS cloud engineering with AI and large language model development. You’ll help build both internal tools and customer-facing features, taking ownership of the infrastructure, application logic and technical decisions required to operate AI products securely and reliably.

The opportunity

You’ll join a multidisciplinary team of cloud, backend, frontend, design and data science specialists working on forward-looking AI products.

The solutions are being developed on AWS using Amazon Bedrock. You’ll contribute throughout the complete engineering lifecycle, from designing cloud infrastructure and developing AI functionality to navigating the security, governance and regulatory requirements involved in bringing AI products into production.

Your responsibilities will include

• Designing, building and maintaining AWS infrastructure for AI-powered applications.
• Working with services including Amazon Bedrock, Lambda, ECS or EKS, API Gateway and IAM.
• Developing and productionising LLM capabilities such as RAG pipelines, prompting strategies, agentic workflows and evaluation frameworks.
• Writing high-quality code, reviewing pull requests and resolving complex technical problems.
• Helping define architecture, scalability, security and compliance standards for AI products.
• Supporting governance activities relating to model risk, information security, DORA and GDPR.
• Integrating AI products with existing platforms and core business systems.
• Collaborating with engineering, data science, security, legal and business stakeholders.

What you’ll bring

• Commercial experience as a Cloud Engineer, AI Engineer or in a closely related position.
• Experience building and operating production cloud systems.
• Practical experience delivering AI or LLM-based functionality into production.
• Strong working knowledge of AWS, experience with Amazon Bedrock would be particularly valuable.
• Familiarity with RAG, prompt engineering, agentic workflows or LLM evaluation.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and confidence solving complex technical problems.
• The ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
• Experience within financial services or another regulated industry would be advantageous.
