Experienced Asphalt Laborer

The Experienced Asphalt Laborer supports daily paving operations by performing skilled labor tasks related to asphalt installation, repair, and maintenance. This role requires hands-on field experience, strong awareness of safety practices, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced outdoor environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Asphalt preparation — Assist with site prep, including grading, cleaning, and setting forms.
• Material handling — Load, unload, and distribute asphalt and related materials.
• Equipment support — Operate or assist with rollers, pavers, compactors, and hand tools.
• Surface finishing — Rake, lute, and smooth asphalt to proper grade and finish.
• Safety compliance — Follow all company, DOT, and OSHA safety standards.
• Team coordination — Work closely with crew members to ensure efficient project flow.
• Site cleanup — Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5**+ years** experience in asphalt paving or road construction.
• Ability to operate asphalt tools and equipment.
• Reliable transportation and consistent attendance.
• Ability to work long hours, including early mornings and occasional weekends.
• Strong understanding of job‑site safety procedures.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 50–75 lbs regularly.
• Comfortable working outdoors in heat, cold, and inclement weather.
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to work in high‑traffic or high‑noise environments.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with commercial or residential paving projects.
• Familiarity with asphalt grades, compaction standards, and surface tolerances.
• CDL or equipment‑operation certifications.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
