Experienced Audio-Visual Installation Technician

Our team is growing and we are looking for an experienced Audio-Visual Installation Technician to join one of the top AV companies in Metro Detroit.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced AV professional who is passionate about the industry, takes pride in delivering high-quality work, and is ready to lead installation crews on a wide variety of commercial audio-visual projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain high standards for workmanship, organization, and jobsite safety
• Have a working knowledge of hand tools and can safely operate basic power tools
• Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot professional audio-visual systems
• Senior level technicians are expected to mentor and guide entry-level technicians
• Read and interpret system drawings, wiring diagrams, and project documentation
• Identify field issues and communicate recommended solutions
• Ensure projects are completed efficiently and in accordance with company standards

Qualifications

• A demonstrated interest in the audio / video industry
• Professional audio-visual installation experience (2 years minimum)
• Will consider church AV volunteer experience
• Strong knowledge of commercial audio, video, and structured cabling systems
• Ability to read construction drawings, AV plans, and signal-flow diagrams
• ETC and/or Chauvet Lighting preferred
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Daily tasks require the ability to routinely lift and install material weighing >50lbs
• Professional communication and customer-service skills
• Valid driver’s license and a dependable driving record
• Would also consider training an electrician that can lead a crew
