Experienced Automatic Gate & Access Control Technician

Job Summary

Giddy Up Garage Doors & Iron is seeking an Experienced Automatic Gate & Access Control Technician to join our team.

This is not an entry-level position. Professional automatic gate and access-control experience is required.

The ideal candidate has current hands-on experience installing, servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing automatic gate operators and access-control systems. We are looking for someone who can accurately diagnose electrical and mechanical problems, perform quality repairs with minimal supervision, and provide professional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, troubleshoot, and repair automatic gate operators and systems
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical gate problems
• Install and service motors, control boards, safety devices, and related components
• Install, program, troubleshoot, and repair access-control equipment
• Troubleshoot keypads, remotes, telephone-entry systems, vehicle loops, photo eyes, safety devices, control boards, and related wiring
• Read wiring diagrams and follow manufacturer specifications
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on existing systems
• Accurately diagnose problems and recommend appropriate repairs
• Clearly explain problems and recommended repairs to customers
• Complete service calls safely, efficiently, and professionally
• Treat customers and their property with respect
• Maintain clean, professional, quality workmanship

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Professional automatic gate and access-control experience required
• Current hands-on experience installing, servicing, and troubleshooting automatic gate systems
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Ability to diagnose gate and access-control problems independently
• Experience with keypads, remotes, telephone-entry systems, vehicle loops, photo eyes, safety devices, control boards, and related wiring
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical documentation
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Valid driver’s license
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently
• Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship

Opportunity to Cross-Train

We also work with residential and commercial garage doors and operators. The right candidate will have the opportunity to learn and cross-train in garage door installation, service, and repair.

Previous garage door experience is a plus, but not required.

Employment Requirements

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screening, in accordance with applicable law.

Full-time position. Pay is based on experience.
