Experienced Barback

Whiskey Bent Saloon is a long-standing, authentic Nashville honky-tonk and live music venue located in the heart of Broadway. We are a high-volume, fast-paced bar and entertainment venue that is currently in a significant growth stage — and we’re looking for the right person to grow with us.

We are looking for a Bar Back who understands that this job is about much more than carrying cases of beer.

You need to be task-oriented, self-motivated, dependable, thick-skinned, strong-willed, and willing to work as part of a team. You should be someone who sees what needs to be done and does it without constantly being asked.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

● Supporting bartenders and keeping the bar fully stocked and operating efficiently

● Restocking beer, liquor, wine, mixers, ice, glassware and supplies

● Keeping coolers, storage areas and workspaces organized and clean

● Running glassware, dishes and trash throughout the shift

● Maintaining cleanliness and organization behind the bar and throughout the venue

● Assisting with opening and closing duties

● Moving product and supplies quickly and safely in a high-volume environment

● Helping bartenders stay focused on guests by anticipating their needs

● Assisting with private events, special activations and large-scale venue functions

● Jumping in wherever the team needs help

● Maintaining a professional attitude during extremely busy periods

● Following direction while also being capable of working independently

THIS IS NOT A “STAND AROUND AND WAIT” JOB.

We need someone who moves with purpose.

If you see an empty ice bin, you fill it.

If the bar needs bottles, you stock them.

If the floor needs attention, you handle it.

If your bartender is slammed, you help them before they have to ask.

We’re looking for someone who takes pride in being the person the entire bar team can depend on.

WHAT’S HAPPENING AT WHISKEY BENT

Whiskey Bent is in an exciting period of growth, and there are a lot of moving pieces right now.

In addition to our daily high-volume Broadway operation, we’re expanding our private events and entertainment business, hosting corporate and non-corporate events, building new activations and developing additional revenue opportunities throughout the venue.

We have also recently become a major NFL fan club watch-party destination, adding another significant component to our already busy event calendar.

That means there are opportunities for people who want to work hard, learn, take on more responsibility and grow with the business.

Broadway is busy. Sometimes it’s chaotic. Sometimes the volume is relentless.

You have to be able to keep your head down, keep moving and get the job done.

We’re not looking for someone who gets overwhelmed every time things get difficult. We’re looking for someone who can handle the pressure and come back the next day ready to do it again.

COMPENSATION

Generous starting wage + tip-out percentage

We believe the people who help keep a high-volume operation running deserve to participate in its success.

Compensation will be discussed with qualified candidates based on experience and availability.
