Experienced Carpenter

About the role

Event Fabrication Carpenter role involving the fabrication of customised event structures, backdrops, stages, platforms, booths and display structures. You will construct wooden frames, walls, counters, tables, cabinets and custom event furniture, working with plywood, MDF, timber, particle board and other construction materials. You will travel to event venues for installation and dismantling, and work collaboratively with metal, acrylic, painting and printing teams.

Key responsibilities

• Fabricate event structures, backdrops, stages, platforms, booths and display structures
• Construct wooden frames, walls, counters, tables, cabinets and custom event furniture
• Measure, cut, assemble and finish carpentry components according to drawings and dimensions
• Fabricate customised structures based on event concepts, drawings and measurements
• Build stage sets, entrance arches, photo booths, wedding structures, exhibition booths and decorative installations
• Travel to event venues for installation and dismantling
• Assemble stages, backdrops, booths, furniture and decorative structures on-site
• Carry out adjustments and modifications at the venue when required
• Dismantle structures carefully after events and ensure materials are returned to the workshop/warehouse
• Keep the fabrication area clean and organised

About you

• Previous experience in carpentry, event fabrication, exhibition or set construction preferred
• Able to read basic drawings, measurements and fabrication plans
• Good knowledge of woodworking tools and materials
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Physically fit and able to handle heavy materials
• Willing to work overtime, weekends and public holidays when required for events
• Willing to travel to event venues for installation and dismantling
• Good workmanship, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
