Experienced Civil Construction Excavator Operator

About the role

Looking for an Experienced Excavator Operator to efficiently and effectively conduct excavation and earthmoving operations for a local civil engineering and earthmoving contractor based in Geelong.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct daily inspections before operating machine to identify and report any maintenance or repairs required
• Select, fit, and remove attachments such as buckets, augers, rock-breaker attachments, and slings
• Excavation of earthworks inclusive of cut and fill operations, soil compaction and landscaping works
• Trenching in the construction of gravity and pressure pipelines in accordance with plans and specifications
• Comply with company policies including Safe Work Method Statements, OH&S Policy, and Drug and Alcohol Policy

About you

• Hold a certificate of competence by a Registered Training Organisation
• Construction Induction (White) card
• Valid Driver Licence
• Good communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• 3+ years of experience operating an excavator in the civil construction industry
• Ability to apply knowledge of OH&S requirements to maintain a safe working environment for all employees
• Knowledge and experience of local council sub-divisional standards and procedures
• Knowledge and experience of local authorities including Power, Communications, Water and Gas
