Experienced Commercial HVAC/R Install Technician

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Experienced Commercial HVAC/R Install Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and mechanical systems in commercial settings. Your expertise will ensure optimal system performance, energy efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Duties

• Install, replace, and start up commercial and residential HVAC/R systems according to mechanical drawings, manufacturer instructions, and supervisor guidance
• Fabricate and modify sheet metal fittings and ductwork as needed to complete installations
• Identify and correct plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, HVAC, or safety issues encountered during installation
• Perform basic troubleshooting and repairs when necessary
• Ensure all installations meet company standards and pass required inspections
• Coordinate with Project Managers, warehouse staff, and dispatch to ensure timely and efficient completion of jobs
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and other equipment necessary for HVAC/R installations.
• Follow all OSHA safety guidelines and company safety policies, including use of PPE and lockout/tagout procedures
• Maintain clear communication with customers, office personnel, and represent the company with professionalism on-site and while driving company vehicles
• Provide training, guidance, and direction to apprentices
• Maintain necessary certifications and licenses in accordance with state and federal requirements

Skills

• Minimum 3 years of HVAC/R installation experience preferred
• Completion of a recognized HVAC trade school or apprenticeship program is a plus
• Experience with commercial and residential HVAC/R systems preferred
• · Knowledge of air balancing, piping procedures (heating, refrigeration, VRF), and basic troubleshooting skills required
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and installation instructions
• Ability to identify plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, HVAC or safety problems that apply to the installation and take necessary corrective action
• Good communication skills, including the ability to work with customers and team members effectively
• Ability to independently manage tasks and follow direction from supervisors
• Must be detail-oriented and able to perform clerical duties related to installation reporting
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Commitment to continuous improvement and staying current with evolving HVAC/R technologies
• Current state occupational licenses (one or more of the following may be required):
• MA Sheet Metal
• RI Sheet Metal
• MA Refrigeration Technician
• RI Refrigeration Technician
• MA Gasfitter
• RI Gasfitter
• MA Pipefitter
• RI Pipefitter
• EPA Certification (Refrigerant Handling)
• OSHA 10 and/or OSHA 30 Certification

Pay: $35.00 - $55.00 per hour
