Experienced cook/ kitchen assistant

Overview

We are seeking a passionate ,experienced and reliable Cook/Kitchen Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in preparing delicious, high-quality meals while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment. Common sense, ability to use own initiative and enthusiasm to work is essential. This position offers an opportunity to experience your kitchen skills, cooking smash burgers, grilled items, loaded fries, pizzas , desserts and shakes etc

You will be required to prep food quickly and efficiently, and to serve good well presented food in a fast paced environment but in a timely manner, as a team but also an ability to work individually.

Responsibilities

• Assist in food preparation by chopping, slicing, marinating, and assembling ingredients to ensure timely meal service
• Cook dishes according to established recipes and standards, maintaining consistency and quality
• Support the kitchen team with meal assembly, packing, and presentation to enhance visual appeal
• Follow food safety protocols diligently to uphold hygiene standards and prevent contamination
• Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, equipment, and storage areas throughout shifts
• Help with inventory management by organizing supplies and notifying supervisors of stock levels or shortages
• Serve meals efficiently to counter customers or staff while ensuring excellent customer service and satisfaction

Qualifications

• Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a restaurant , fast food or catering environment
• Strong knowledge of kitchen safety practices and food hygiene regulations
• Ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting
• Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards collaboration
• Familiarity with meal preparation techniques, food presentation, and serving procedures
• Previous experience in a culinary role or similar position is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is valued
• Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends or evenings as needed

Pay: £12.71-£13.00 per hour
