Experienced Custom Cabinet Maker

Woodtec Millwork, Inc.
465 MLK Avenue, Jefferson, GA 30549
Full-Time | $19.00 to $21.00 per hour

Job Description

Woodtec Millwork is seeking an experienced Custom Cabinet Maker to fabricate and assemble high-quality custom cabinetry and architectural casework.

This is not an entry-level position.

The ideal candidate can read shop drawings, work independently, produce accurate assemblies, troubleshoot fabrication problems, and consistently deliver excellent craftsmanship.

We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their work, communicates professionally, respects coworkers, and contributes to a productive, team-oriented environment.

Our Core Values

Our expectations extend beyond technical ability. We operate according to six core values:

  • Treat everyone with respect
  • Do the right thing, not the easy thing
  • Be better tomorrow than you are today
  • Be humble
  • Add value... always
  • Embrace "we," not "me"

These values guide our decisions, workmanship, accountability, and how we treat one another.

What You'll Do

  • Read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, cut lists, and specifications
  • Fabricate and assemble custom cabinets, architectural casework, shelving, doors, drawers, and specialty components
  • Build frameless and face-frame cabinetry according to project requirements
  • Perform accurate measuring, layout, cutting, machining, joinery, assembly, and fitting
  • Work with hardwoods, plywood, MDF, melamine, veneers, and plastic laminates
  • Install and adjust cabinet hardware, including hinges, drawer slides, pulls, locks, and shelf supports
  • Apply and trim edge banding and laminate materials
  • Set up and safely operate woodworking machinery and equipment
  • Inspect completed assemblies for accuracy, alignment, fit, and workmanship
  • Identify and correct fabrication problems before advancing work to the next production stage
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, safe work environment
  • Coordinate with Project Managers and production leadership to meet quality standards and deadlines

What We're Looking For

Proven custom cabinet making experience is required.

Five or more years of relevant experience is strongly preferred. However, demonstrated craftsmanship and the ability to produce excellent work independently are more important than years of experience alone.

Qualified candidates should have:

  • Strong knowledge of custom cabinet construction, joinery, and assembly techniques
  • Ability to accurately interpret shop drawings and specifications
  • Experience fabricating commercial or high-end residential cabinetry
  • Excellent measuring, layout, and practical math skills
  • Proficiency with cabinet hardware installation and adjustment
  • Ability to produce square, structurally sound, properly aligned assemblies
  • Experience operating woodworking machinery, including:
  • Table saws and sliding table saws
  • Panel saws
  • Planers and jointers
  • Band saws and shapers
  • Routers and router tables
  • Drill presses and boring machines
  • Edgebanders
  • Miter saws and sanders
  • Proficiency with hand and pneumatic woodworking tools
  • Ability to identify problems and develop practical solutions
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work independently and meet production deadlines
  • Willingness to accept constructive feedback and take responsibility for mistakes
  • Professional communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English

Preferred Experience

Additional experience in the following areas is a plus:

  • AWI woodworking standards
  • High-end architectural casework and institutional cabinetry
  • Advanced cabinet joinery and construction
  • Veneer matching and sequencing
  • CNC machining and CNC-produced components
  • Edgebander setup and operation
  • Plastic laminate fabrication
  • Architectural wood paneling
  • Wood finishing and preparation
  • Cabinet and millwork installation
  • Cabinet drafting or engineering
  • Bilingual English/Spanish

Our Expectations

We believe exceptional craftsmanship and professional conduct go hand in hand.

Our cabinet makers are expected to produce quality work without constant supervision, protect materials and equipment, and address problems before they create costly rework.

We value employees who take pride in their abilities while remaining humble, receptive to feedback, and willing to help their coworkers.

Skill matters. Character, accountability, and teamwork matter just as much.

Pay

$19.00 to $21.00 per hour

Starting pay will be based on demonstrated experience, craftsmanship, technical proficiency, and the ability to produce high-quality cabinetry with minimal supervision.

Physical Requirements

This is an active manufacturing position requiring candidates to:

  • Stand and walk for extended periods
  • Bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and perform repetitive movements
  • Safely lift and move heavy materials and cabinet assemblies
  • Operate woodworking tools and machinery safely
  • Wear required personal protective equipment
  • Work safely in an active production environment

Benefits

  • Paid holidays
  • 40 hours paid vacation per year
  • 40 hours sick pay per year
  • Health insurance available
  • Year-end performance bonus
  • Full-time, steady employment
  • Opportunity to work on high-end custom architectural millwork
