Experienced Dance Instructor

Job Overview

As an Experienced Dance Instructor, you’ll lead engaging dance classes and help students build skills, confidence, and creative expression. You’ll plan lessons, teach movement and performance techniques, and adapt instruction to students’ ages and abilities. This role may also support broader creative arts activities, including music, theater, and visual arts.

Duties

• Develop dance curriculum and choreograph routines for classes, performances, and youth programs.
• Teach dance, including ballet where appropriate, and guide students through movement, practice, and performance.
• Manage the classroom and student behavior with clear expectations and age-appropriate approaches.
• Work with children and adults, adapting activities to support different learning needs and stages of childhood development.
• Your impact: Thoughtful instruction and supportive classroom management help students learn new skills and participate confidently.

Experience

• Required: Dance instruction of Ballet, Lyrical, Jazz, Tap and teaching experience, including working with pre-k students-Adults, Beginner to Advanced; experience working with children is important.
• Preferred: Youth programs, preschool, or adult education experience; classroom experience and behavior management skills.
• Experience teaching visual and performing arts, teaching arts, music, or instrumental performance is an asset. Familiarity with musical instruments, theater, photography, or sewing can support interdisciplinary activities.
• Curriculum development, choreography, ballet, and a specialization in creative arts instruction are valued.

Schedule with room to add more hours:

Fridays-2:00pm-6:00pm

Possible Saturday hours 9am-12pm if available

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 4.0 per week
