Experienced Disability Support Worker – NSW

About the role

You may work across Supported Independent Living (SIL), Individualised Living Options (ILO), Community access, Day programs, and In-home support. Shifts may include weekdays, evenings, weekends, public holidays and overnight supports.

Key responsibilities

• Provide person-centred and trauma-informed support.
• Follow support plans, Behaviour Support Plans and risk assessments.
• Support participants with personal care and daily living tasks.
• Assist with medication in line with training and VHCC procedures.
• Support community access, appointments and day programs.
• Recognise triggers and use appropriate de-escalation strategies.
• Apply authorised restrictive practices correctly and only when required.
• Encourage independence, choice and skill development.
• Complete clear and accurate care notes and incident reports.
• Maintain professional boundaries and participant confidentiality.
