Duties

• Coordinate vehicle dispatching by utilizing transportation management systems (TMS), vehicle dispatch software, and GPS tools to assign routes effectively.
• Communicate with drivers, clients, and internal teams via phone calls, internal communication platforms, and email to relay instructions and updates.
• Monitor real-time vehicle locations using GPS technology to ensure adherence to schedules and optimize routing.
• Manage freight shipments, including scheduling pickups and deliveries while complying with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
• Maintain accurate data entry within logistics databases such as Oracle Transportation Management (OTM) and AS400 systems for tracking shipments and fleet management.
• Handle customer service inquiries professionally, providing timely updates and resolving issues related to shipping & receiving or transportation delays.
• Analyze transportation data to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements in road transportation operations and supply chain processes.

Requirements

• Proven experience in dispatching within the transportation or logistics industry, with a strong understanding of freight movement and fleet management.
• Knowledge of GIS (Geographic Information Systems), GPS technology, and routing optimization techniques.
• Familiarity with DOT regulations, shipping & receiving procedures, 3PL (Third-Party Logistics), and supply chain principles.
• Excellent communication skills with phone call management expertise, phone etiquette, and internal communication abilities.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining attention to detail during data entry and analysis tasks.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment while adhering to safety standards.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) along with typing skills for quick documentation.
