Our group classes are upbeat, exciting, and packed with purpose — and we’re looking for dynamic dog trainers looking to challenge themselves to engage with our clients and lead the pack!

What You’ll Do:

• Evaluate incoming dogs and recommend appropriate type of training (private vs. group, beginner vs. advanced, obedience vs. sports vs. therapy)
• Lead engaging group dog training classes & private lessons (prior private or class dog training experience needed!)
• Coach people just as much as their pups — we train the humans, it’s actually our motto!
• Create fun, positive experiences for all dogs — from basic obedience, and enrichment sports including agility to scent among many others.
• Assist in updating and refining the training curriculum to stay current with the most recent developments in positive reinforcement, CGC, AKC and others
• Supervise dog inclusive social events and playgroups
• Promote and sell appropriate at home training enrichment and essentials as well as class memberships and packages.
• Set up equipment (yes, it’s active – lifting up to 50 lbs)
• Assist with day-to-day operations of the facility, including but not limited to stocking, client checkout, cleaning, answering the phone, conducting orientations, answering client inquiries all while providing superior customer service.

You’ll Need:

• Experience training professionally, preferably using force -free positive reinforcement training methods. No other methods will be allowed therefore this training role will require you to adapt to Zoom Room’s training methods using only positive reinforcement if you are currently using blended or aversive techniques.
• A genuine love for dogs plus a commitment to positive reinforcement training.
• Confidence speaking with people — you’re comfortable guiding conversations and leading groups
• A natural ability to match clients with the right training offering and training path
• Reliable, upbeat energy — you help create a positive, supportive atmosphere
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs (agility equipment, not the dogs!) and be flexible enough to bend down easily to work with small dogs and puppies.
• Basic writing/tech/computer skills
• Must be 18 years or older
• Previous customer service experience is a plus
• Must successfully complete Zoom Room’s proprietary training program and obtain certification upon hire within established timeline
• Keen observational and critical thinking skills with an ability to think on one’s feet
• Must have reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications:

• CPDT-KA certification, Karen Pryor Academy (KPA-CTP) or similiar certification a plus
• Prior experience working with or training dogs in group setting a plus
• Prior experience speaking in or facilitating group settings a plus
