Ulrich Enterprises, LLC.

Experienced Flooring Installer
Ulrich Enterprises, LLC | Oak Harbor, Washington
Full-Time | Two Positions Available
Flooring Is Where Our Company Began.
Nearly 20 years ago, Ulrich Enterprises, LLC was founded by people who knew the flooring trade firsthand. Our owner and executive director started as flooring installers, doing the work themselves and building a company from that experience.
Today, we’re looking for two experienced flooring professionals to join our team in Oak Harbor, Washington.
Most of our flooring projects involve single-family homes, military housing, and multi-unit residential properties. Our primary work includes carpet, sheet vinyl, and luxury vinyl plank (LVP) installation.
We’re looking for people who know their trade, take pride in their workmanship, and can complete installations efficiently without sacrificing quality.
We also recognize that flooring expertise comes in many forms. If your experience goes beyond standard residential installation into tile, hardwood, laminate, or more specialized flooring projects, we want to hear from you. Broader skills and the ability to manage more complex installations independently create opportunities for higher compensation and additional responsibility.
What You’ll Be Doing

Install carpet, sheet vinyl, luxury vinyl plank (LVP), and other flooring materials based on experience and project requirements.

Remove existing flooring, assess subfloor conditions, and complete necessary surface preparation.

Measure, lay out, cut, fit, and install flooring with attention to seams, transitions, edges, and finished appearance.

Complete flooring installations in single-family residences, apartments, and other managed properties.

Identify installation challenges, material concerns, or additional work needed and communicate them promptly.

Coordinate with project managers and other team members to keep work organized and moving forward.

Maintain clean, safe, and professional work areas while respecting residents and their property.

Take responsibility for installation quality, productivity, and completing assigned work properly.

What We’re Looking For

Professional, hands-on flooring installation experience.

Demonstrated proficiency in carpet, sheet vinyl, and/or luxury vinyl plank installation, with preference for candidates experienced in multiple materials.

The ability to complete installations independently, including preparation, layout, installation, and finishing.

Knowledge of proper installation techniques, materials, tools, and subfloor preparation.

Strong attention to detail and pride in delivering quality workmanship.

Reliability, good communication, organization, and the ability to manage daily assignments.

A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel between assigned job sites.

Ability to obtain and maintain required access authorization for military installations, including applicable identity verification and background screening.

Additional Experience We Value
Candidates with experience in the following areas are especially encouraged to apply:

Ceramic and porcelain tile installation.

Hardwood and engineered wood flooring.

Laminate and specialty flooring systems.

Complex layouts, custom installations, and detailed finish work.

Advanced subfloor repair and preparation.

Leading installations or mentoring other flooring professionals.

You do not need to specialize in every flooring material to be considered. We’re interested in what you do well, the quality of your workmanship, and the additional capabilities you can bring to our team.
Compensation and Benefits
We offer full-time, hourly employment, with compensation based on demonstrated installation experience, technical ability, and the variety of flooring projects you can independently perform.
Our benefits include:

Paid time off

Health insurance

Dental insurance

Vision insurance

Life insurance

Opportunities for advancement

Company-provided basic installation tools and equipment, including carpet kickers, stretchers, and other essential tools

Work Location and Requirements
This is a full-time, in-person position based in Oak Harbor, Washington, with work performed at properties throughout Oak Harbor and surrounding communities.
A significant portion of our work involves properties requiring authorized military installation access. Required screening and access approvals are conditions of applicable work assignments.
Flooring installation is physically demanding and includes lifting and handling materials, standing, bending, kneeling, and working in various residential environments, with reasonable accommodations where applicable.
Why Join Ulrich Enterprises, LLC?
We’ve spent nearly two decades building a company that understands the trades because that’s where we started.
We know the difference between someone who simply puts flooring down and someone who understands the preparation, craftsmanship, and details that make an installation last.
Whether you’ve spent years working for yourself and would welcome a full-time position without the responsibility of finding every job, or you’re an experienced installer looking for a company where your abilities are recognized, we’d like to talk.
We’re looking for dependable people who value quality work, take ownership of what they do, and want to be part of something established.
If you’re an experienced flooring installer who takes pride in your trade, we encourage you to apply.
For Those that are Ready to Focus on the Trade, Not the Business?
If you’ve spent years working for yourself or running your own flooring business, you know there’s a lot more to it than installing flooring. Finding the next job, preparing estimates, coordinating materials, managing schedules, handling paperwork, and collecting payments can take just as much energy as the work itself.
We understand that because we came from the same trade. Ulrich Enterprises, LLC was built by flooring installers who understand both the rewards and the challenges of working independently.
If you’re ready for a change, consider bringing your experience to an established company where you can focus on what you do best, enjoy the support of an experienced team, and spend less time managing the business side of the trade. Your years of experience, independence, and knowledge are exactly what we value.
