Experienced Gatehouse Security Officer

Secom Australia are looking for a full-time, Level 3, Gatehouse Security Officer to work 12-hour day shifts on a fixed fortnightly roster. The successful applicant will demonstrate strong access control skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to communicate professionally and effectively with employees, contractors, visitors and drivers.

Proposed Fortnightly Roster

Week 1

Monday: 06:00–18:00

Tuesday: 06:00–18:00

Thursday: 06:00–18:00

Friday: 06:00–18:00

Saturday: 06:00–18:00

Week 2

Monday: 06:00–18:00

Tuesday: 06:00–18:00

Total: 84 hours per fortnight

Key Responsibilities

• Controlling access to and egress from the site.
• Confirming the identity and authorisation of all persons seeking site access.
• Ensuring all identification presented is valid, current and approved.
• Recording the arrival and departure of vehicles and line-haul trailers.
• Conducting random vehicle and bag searches in accordance with site procedures.
• Confirming that vehicle freight compartments are correctly secured or sealed.
• Conducting scheduled and unscheduled patrols throughout the facility.
• Accurately recording patrols, observations, hazards and incidents.
• Monitoring site security systems and responding appropriately to alarms or unusual activity.
• Assisting with emergency responses in accordance with established site procedures.
• Completing security registers, reports and other required documentation.
• Providing professional assistance and directions to employees, contractors, visitors and drivers.

Essential Requirements

• Constantly maintain a professional and courteous demeanour.
• Uphold a clean, neat, and well-groomed corporate appearance at all times.
• Remain calm, professional and decisive when responding to incidents or emergencies.
• Have excellent attention to detail and accurate record-keeping skills.
• Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills, effectively identify and respond to security incidents, and deliver exceptional customer service at all times.
• Be reliable, punctual and able to work the full proposed roster.
• Be confident using computers, electronic reporting systems and security equipment.
• Be physically capable of conducting site patrols and working 12-hour shifts.

Eligibility, Qualifications, Licences & Certifications

• Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident with unrestricted Rights to Work in Australia (Essential).
• Current WA Security Licence with a Class 1A as a minimum (Essential).
• Current First Aid Certification.
• Previous experience in security, access control, gatehouse operations or a similar position.

Experience working within a transport, logistics, warehouse or high-volume industrial environment would be highly regarded.
