About the role

Ezi-Breeze Ltd is seeking an Experienced Heat Pump Technician to join our growing team in Christchurch. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality heat pump installation, maintenance, and repair services to our valued customers. As a Heat Pump Technician, you will be at the forefront of our service delivery, ensuring that our clients receive exceptional technical expertise and reliable climate control solutions. This role is essential to maintaining Ezi-Breeze Ltd's reputation for excellence in the air conditioning and refrigeration industry.

Key responsibilities

• Install, commission, and configure heat pump systems in residential and commercial properties
• Perform routine maintenance and preventative servicing on heat pump units to ensure optimal performance
• Diagnose and troubleshoot heat pump faults using diagnostic equipment and technical knowledge
• Repair and replace faulty components, refrigerant lines, and electrical connections
• Conduct system testing and quality checks to verify proper operation and safety compliance
• Provide technical advice and recommendations to customers regarding heat pump operation and energy efficiency
• Maintain accurate records of work completed, including service reports and parts used
• Respond promptly to emergency service calls and prioritise work according to customer needs
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations, environmental legislation, and company policies
• Collaborate with team members and management to continuously improve service delivery

What we're looking for

• Recognised NZ qualification in refrigeration and air conditioning
• Current EWRB practicing licence
• Minimum 3-5 years of proven experience working as a heat pump or HVAC technician
• Strong knowledge of heat pump systems, components, and operational principles
• Competency with diagnostic tools, refrigerant handling equipment, and electrical testing devices
• Full & valid NZ driver's licence
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach to service delivery
• Physical fitness and the ability to work at heights and in confined spaces where required
• Willingness to undertake ongoing professional development and training
• Familiarity with current environmental regulations and responsible refrigerant management practices
