Experienced Lead Dental Assistant Needed

Duties

• Lead and coordinate daily clinical activities, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality patient care
• Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry
• Prepare treatment rooms with proper sterilization of dental instruments and equipment following infection prevention management protocols
• Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations
• Take and develop dental X-rays, including dental X-ray imaging and 3D scans, while adhering to safety standards for radiation exposure
• Provide chairside assistance utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance procedure efficiency and patient comfort
• Educate patients on oral health care, post-treatment instructions, and preventive practices while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies
• Oversee the training and mentoring of junior staff members in dental assisting procedures, infection control, and use of dental equipment
• Handle administrative duties such as patient management software updates, appointment scheduling, and coordinating with the dental reception team

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with a strong background in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, or prosthodontics
• Demonstrated leadership skills with previous experience leading a dental assisting team or supervising clinical staff
• Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; familiarity with patient management software is highly desirable
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and strict adherence to clinical confidentiality policies
• Certification in X-ray technology (Dental Radiography License) along with expertise in dental sterilization procedures and infection prevention management
• Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, medical documentation, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry
• Ability to perform dental instrument processing accurately while maintaining aseptic technique standards
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively about their oral health needs
• Flexibility to adapt to a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism
