Experienced Line Cook

Downstate in Newburgh is seeking one full time line cook for the new Dinner service being added in November. Downstate for dinner will be reservation only with a dining room of about 15-18 seats. Expecting to do about 60-80 covers a night.

The expected hours/days are Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sundays from 2pm -10pm roughly. Mondays may be added in the future but not until next year. Not completely established yet but hours will not change much. If you don't availability on these days please don't apply. Only seeking one candidate

We are seeking a cook who has fine dining experience, attention to detail, organization, is self motivated and can work clean under pressure. Must have cooking fundamentals fully established, familiar with multiple cooking techniques and jargon.

Must have experience cooking various proteins to specific temperatures and doneness. Do not apply without this experience, this is not an entry level job.

Must be prepared to complete a simple tasting of one dish so that I know and understand where your palate and cooking skillset lies.

We are looking to serve fine dining Mexican inspired dishes that are executed as perfectly as possible every single time.

Can offer some part time hours before the opening of dinner service

Starting rate is 23. If you are very qualified we can negotiate something higher after interview and tasting

Pay: From $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 34.0 – 38.0 per week
