Compensation

This job is commission based, plus tips.

$20–$35+ per hour equivalent, based on service commission and tips
Compensation is structured as a percentage of service revenue plus 100% of earned tips. Actual earnings vary based on booked services, service pricing, schedule, and gratuities.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of massage techniques including Swedish, deep tissue, trigger point therapy, and sports massage. As a solo massage therapist in our practice, you will be able to customize our menu offering to suit your specialties.
• Conduct thorough client assessments to determine appropriate treatment plans and adjust techniques accordingly
• Communicate effectively with clients to understand their concerns, explain treatment procedures, and provide guidance on self-care practices
• Maintain detailed records of each session, including patient progress and treatment outcomes, ensuring compliance with health regulations
• Stay current with industry best practices and expand your skill set through ongoing education in areas such as physiology knowledge, medical terminology, and pain management strategies
• Ensure a safe environment by adhering to all health and safety protocols, including CPR certification and sanitation standards
• Foster excellent customer service by creating a welcoming atmosphere that encourages repeat visits and positive reviews

Requirements

• Valid massage therapy license or certification in accordance with local regulations
• Proven experience working with a diverse clientele in a spa or similar setting
• Proficiency in various massage modalities such as Swedish massage, deep tissue, trigger point therapy, sports massage, and prenatal massage
• Strong knowledge of human anatomy and physiology to accurately assess patient needs and deliver effective treatments
• Excellent communication skills to engage clients professionally and empathetically
• Experience with patient assessment techniques and pain management approaches
• CPR certification is required to ensure client safety during treatments
• Ability to work independently while maintaining a high standard of patient care and customer service
