Experienced Residential Painter (Independent Contractor)

Small Town Paint Co is an owner-operated residential painting company with more than 28 years of experience. We do interior painting, drywall repairs, cabinet painting and refinishing, and deck staining for homeowners across South Charlotte and the surrounding areas. We are fully insured and known for our attention to detail.

We are looking for an experienced painter to take on residential projects in and around South Charlotte. This is a 1099 independent contractor engagement, not employment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Prepare surfaces: sanding, scraping, patching, caulking, priming

• Tape and mask surfaces, fixtures, and work areas

• Interior painting with brushes, rollers, and sprayers

• Drywall repairs and patching

• Cabinet painting and refinishing

• Deck staining

• Protect floors, furniture, and customer belongings

• Keep the job site clean, organized, and safe; clean up daily

• Communicate with the owner and homeowners about progress and site needs

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 5+ years of professional painting experience

• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders or scaffolding

• Comfortable with residential interior and exterior work

• Basic personal hand tools

• Dependable, punctual, and attentive to detail

• References, and a background check where permitted by law

NICE TO HAVE

• Drywall finishing experience

• Cabinet refinishing or spray experience

• Deck staining experience

• Bilingual English/Spanish

WHAT WE OFFER

• $20.00 to $25.00 per hour depending on experience

• Steady work in South Charlotte and surrounding areas

CONTRACTOR TERMS

• 1099 independent contractor engagement, not employment

• Contractor pays their own federal, state, and self-employment taxes

• Completed IRS Form W-9 required before first payment

• Contractor supplies their own basic hand tools, transportation, and specialty equipment

• Contractor maintains their own insurance, including general liability, and provides proof on request

• Project scope, scheduling, and payment terms are set in a written independent contractor agreement signed before work begins
