Experienced retail assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced retail assistant to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service, maintaining store presentation, and supporting daily operations. This role offers an opportunity to utilise your organisational and communication skills within a vibrant retail environment. The ideal applicant will be proactive, multilingual or bilingual, and capable of working efficiently under pressure.

Duties

• Assisting customers with their purchases and providing exceptional service
• Managing stock levels and replenishing shelves as needed
• Maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the store, including routine maintenance tasks
• Operating point-of-sale systems and processing transactions accurately
• Handling customer enquiries via phone or in person with professional phone etiquette
• Organising displays and ensuring the store layout is appealing and accessible
• Supporting stock deliveries and performing inventory checks using Microsoft Excel or similar tools
• Ensuring health and safety standards are adhered to at all times

Skills

• Fluency in multiple languages or bilingual abilities to assist a diverse customer base
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage effectively with customers and team members
• Strong organisational skills to manage stock, paperwork, and daily schedules efficiently
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for inventory management and reporting tasks
• Good phone etiquette for handling customer calls professionally
• Basic maintenance knowledge to address minor issues within the store environment
• Ability to work as part of a team while also demonstrating independence when required
