A Taste of Britain is looking for an experienced, energetic, and dependable Retail Sales Associate to join our British Boutique in the beautiful Eagle Village Shops in Wayne, PA.

We're an independent specialty shop featuring British imported groceries, more than 40 loose-leaf teas, fine china, and a thoughtfully curated collection of gifts and home accessories.

Our shop is a lovely place to spend your workday, with beautiful merchandise, wonderful customers, and a friendly team. But we're also a busy retail operation, and we're looking for someone who knows how to roll up their sleeves and get things done.

We're looking for someone with genuine retail experience, excellent communication skills, good judgment, and the confidence to work independently. This is a busy, active position where initiative, professionalism, and a positive attitude make all the difference.

Previous retail experience is required. We're looking for someone who can jump in, take initiative, and contribute from day one.

What You'll Do

• Welcome customers, offer knowledgeable assistance, and help them find the perfect products and gifts.
• Handle sales transactions accurately and confidently using our point-of-sale system.
• Restock shelves, receive and unpack merchandise, price products, and maintain attractive displays.
• Help keep the shop beautifully organized, clean, and well-stocked.
• Assist with retail orders and fulfillment.
• Occasionally support our adjoining Tea Room with hosting, takeout orders, and catering pickups.
• Take ownership of daily tasks, notice what needs attention, and help keep things running smoothly.

Who We're Looking For

We're especially interested in candidates who:

• Have previous retail sales experience, ideally in a specialty shop, boutique, gift store, or similar environment.
• Are comfortable working independently and taking initiative without constant direction.
• Enjoy engaging with customers and providing warm, attentive service.
• Have strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Are dependable, efficient, and comfortable multitasking.
• Have a positive attitude and genuinely enjoy being part of a small, hardworking team.

An interest in British food, tea, gifts, or British culture is a wonderful bonus, but it's not required. We'll happily teach you about our products!

Important: This Is an Active, Hands-On Position

Our boutique is a multi-level retail environment. This position involves spending much of the day on your feet, frequently using stairs, unpacking deliveries, carrying merchandise, and stocking shelves.

Candidates must be comfortable with the physical demands of an active retail environment, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Schedule & Compensation

We're considering both full-time and part-time candidates and can structure the position around the right person and our staffing needs.

• Pay: $16–$20 per hour, depending on experience, responsibilities, and availability.
• Hours: Generally between 9:30 AM and 5:00–6:00 PM.
• Schedule: Full-time and part-time opportunities available. We offer some flexibility and aim to establish a consistent weekly schedule after training.
• Weekends: Weekend availability is important. Specific weekend schedules will depend on staffing needs and will likely include Saturdays and/or Sundays.
• Location: Eagle Village Shops, Wayne, PA.
