ABOUT THE BUSINESS
We're helping an established Christchurch roofing business find an experienced roofer to join their crew in a permanent role.

There's plenty of work across Christchurch and Canterbury, a good mix of residential and light commercial jobs, and a team of experienced roofers who know what they're doing.

It's a pretty straightforward place to work. Everyone gets stuck in, there's a bit of banter along the way, and if you know your stuff, you'll be trusted to get on with it.

And it's clearly a good place to stick around. Some of the crew have been there for more than 10 years.

WHAT'S THE JOB?
You'll be working across a mix of long-run roofing and reroofing jobs, alongside a crew that takes pride in doing things properly.

We're looking for someone who knows their way around a roof, can think for themselves. You'll be getting stuck into:

• Long-run roofing and reroofing on residential and light commercial jobs
• Roofing from start to finish, including sheets, valleys, hips, ridges and flashings
• Reading plans, sorting out problems and keeping jobs moving
• Guttering, detailing and finishing work

There's also room to take on more responsibility as the business grows, if that's something you're interested in.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
You don't need the fanciest CV or to be a qualified roofer. What matters most is that you know your trade, take pride in your work and can be relied on.

Ideally, you'll:

• Have solid experience in long-run roofing
• Be confident with flashings, detailing and finishing work
• Know how to read plans and work through problems on site
• Be able to work independently
• Turn up, pull your weight and communicate with the crew
• Take pride in doing a quality job

Roofing qualifications, relevant tickets and wall cladding experience are all bonuses, but practical experience and knowing what you're doing on the tools matter more.
