Experienced Semi-Trailer Mechanic

Compensation: $21.00 – 32.00 / hourly; with the opportunity to earn a productivity bonus!

About the Position

Southeast Utility Trailer, LLC is seeking an experienced Service Technician to join our Ashland Division service department. We’re looking for someone dependable, safety-minded, able to work independently with minimal instruction and supervision.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on diagnostic and repair experience working in dealership or independent shop service department environment.

Qualifications

· Federal (FHWA) Inspection experience

· Virginia State Inspectors Licenses (preferred)

· Valid Virginia Drivers Licenses with acceptable MVR (CDL-A preferred; but not required)

Key Responsibilities

· Electrical and mechanical systems diagnostic experience

· Braking system repairs: relines, brake chambers, drum replacement

· ABS system repairs

· Suspension: Air bag, leaf spring, and hanger repair/replacement

· Axles: single, tandem, and slider assembly maintenance and repair

· Landing gear repair/replacement

· Swing or overhead door repair/replacement

· Straight truck body repairs

· Lighting, DOT: stop, tail, turn and clearance installation, wiring, and repairs

· Aerodynamic side skirt and nose cone installations

· Liftgate installation, repair, and maintenance

· Electric or manual tarp installation and repair

· Tautliner and Conestoga tarp system repair and replacement

· Floor liners installed for dump trailers and dump body trucks

· Roof, side panel, and floor repair/replacement

· “BEELINE” professional trailer alignments

· Live floor repairs and retrofit installations

· Major wreck repairs

· Experience operating motorized shop equipment: trailer yard transport truck, forklift, scissor man lift unit
