What We're Looking For

We are seeking an Experienced Tree Climber with at least one year of professional tree climbing experience to join our field team.

You should be confident working at height, skilled in safe climbing and rigging techniques, and comfortable performing tree pruning and removals alongside a coordinated crew.

A valid, insurable driver’s license is required. A CDL and experience working with cranes during tree removals are strongly preferred.

We are looking for someone who brings a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a commitment to doing the job safely and professionally.

Your Responsibilities

• Perform tree climbing, pruning, and removals using safe, appropriate techniques.
• Set up and use climbing and rigging systems for controlled lowering of limbs and wood.
• Inspect climbing gear, ropes, rigging equipment, and tools before use.
• Operate chainsaws and other tree care equipment safely, both aloft and on the ground.
• Communicate clearly with the Crew Lead, ground crew, and crane operator during work.
• Support crane-assisted tree removals, within your training and experience.
• Participate in daily job briefings and follow established safety procedures.
• Help with equipment setup, site cleanup, and ground operations as needed.
• Protect client property and maintain a professional presence on every job site.
• Assist with snow removal operations during the winter months.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development.

Qualifications We Require

• At least one year of professional tree climbing experience.
• Current, valid driver’s license and an insurable driving record.
• Knowledge of ANSI Z133 safety standards for tree care work.
• Working knowledge of climbing systems, rigging techniques, pruning, and tree removals.
• Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work and work safely at height.
• Fluency in English.
• Professional references.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• A reliable, hardworking approach and a positive attitude.
• Commitment to safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Current, valid CDL.
• Experience working with cranes during tree removals.
• ISA or TCIA certifications.
• Experience with complex removals and advanced rigging techniques.

Work Location: In person; based in Morristown, NJ, with job sites throughout Northern New Jersey.
